Basic Computer Course

INTRODUCTION A computer is a programmable machine designed to perform arithmetic and logical operations automatically and sequentially on the input given by the user and gives the desired output after processing. Computer components are divided into two major categories namely hardware and software. Hardware is the machine itself and its connected devices such as monitor, keyboard, mouse etc. Software are the set of programs that make use of hardware for performing various functions.

NOTE FOR COMPUTER BASIC COURSE :-: Computer is an electronics device which accept input through keyboard or mouse work inside CPU( Central processing Unit) & finally give up meaningful result on Monitor.

1. C = Complete
2. O = Obedient
3. M = Machine
4. P = Processing
5. U = User
6. T =Type
7. E = Essential
8. R = Result

The collection of information is called Data. There are four kinds of Data. They are

1. 1.Text Data
2. 2.Graphic Data
3. 3.Audio Data
4. 4.Video Data

1. Text Data :- The collection of alphabet(A-Z) & number (0-9) is called Text Data.
2. Graphic Data :- The collection of constant picture is called Graphic Data.
3. Audio Data :- The collection of voice or sound is called Audio Data.
4. Video Data :- The collection of movie or video is called Video Data

3) Measurement of Data :-

1. 1 Letter = 1 byte
2. 1024 byte = 1KB(Kilo byte)
3. 1024 KB = 1 MB(Mega byte)
4. 1024 MB = 1GB(Gega byte)
5. 1024 GB = 1TB(Tera byte)
6. 1024 TB = 1PB(Pera byte)

4)Data storage Device :-
There are four kinds of Data storage device. They are:

1. Floppy Disk
2. Pen drive or Memory card
3. CD/DVD
4. Hard Disk

Parts of Windows :

Desktop :- Whole area of screen is called is desktop.

Taskbar :- The below of screen where Start bottom Situated.

Recyclebin :- All the deleted files & folder are inside Recyclebin.

My Computer :- All the Data storage devices are open from My Computer.

Folder :- This is yellow color box , where you can store your files, Pictures & Video.

Speed :-: Computers work at an incredible speed. A powerful computer is capable of performing about 3-4 million simple instructions per second.
Accuracy
In addition to being fast, computers are also accurate. Errors that may occur can almost always be attributed to human error (inaccurate data, poorly designed system or faulty instructions/programs written by the programmer)
Diligence
Unlike human beings, computers are highly consistent. They do not suffer from human traits of boredom and tiredness resulting in lack of concentration. Computers, therefore, are better than human beings in performing voluminous and repetitive jobs.
